I don't really have much to say these days as my life consists of waking up, give Sterls his stretches, get both kids ready, feed the kids, play with Emy, play with Sterls, get lunch ready, make Emy nap, eat lunch, clean up lunch, feed Emy, play with both kids, make Emy nap (in my arms....how do you get your baby to sleep on their own when they are soooo stubborn just like me. I have tried cry it out and about 4 other sleep training methods and not one will work except rocking her to sleep. She is such a light sleeper that if I move even an inch she wakes instantly...help me! I asked her doctor and she told me Emy's sleep habits are a sign that her mind can't stop thinking even when she is asleep...Hmmm...wonder where that came from. Oh yeah, sounds exactly like me.) clean up huge toy mess, make dinner, eat dinner, clean up dinner, put kids to bed, go to bed. Whew! Two kids is soooooo much more tiring then one. I swear it is more than twice the work of one because the first child gets into more trouble then they did before because you are not paying as much attention. I am in need of a vacation or at least a mani/pedi!
Talking about vacations, all my cheap May long weekend vacation plans have been foiled. I was going to go to Rossland, BC to visit Ryan and Kaylee and find out the house they were renting just got sold so they wont have a place for us. Was going to maybe go to Saskatoon to visit Colin and Stacey and fam but they just decided this week that they are going to be moving to Calgary (ok them living here is so much better than visiting them 7 hours away) so more plans foiled. Lastly, was going to go to Nakusp, BC to Ang's property and try and score some sleepage in their new lodging but they changed plans from going up April Long to May long. HUMPTH! Where does everyone go May long to get out and about? Looking for ideas!
I was playing boo with Emy and she just looked at me like I was a complete idiot. So Sterling does the exact same thing as me and Emy dies laughing. What the heck? She has such a huge love for her brother it is really cute to watch. If she is crying and in a bad mood and I can't get her happy I just sit her down in her bumbo next to Sterling and BAM happy baby! I am in love with how adorable both my children are to me and how much they love each other.
Took Sterling to Clinic on Monday, whew is that always an ordeal. For those of you that don't remember, clinic is an appointment that Sterling goes to every 6 months to see 4-8 doctors all in one shot instead of going to 8 separate appointments plus the additional appointments they need Sterling to attend such as ultrasounds and x-rays and PT. I spent the 4 hours at the hospital taking turns with Trevor chasing Sterling around in his chair trying to wrangle him into individual appointments. Wow, that kid is fast in his chair and accurate. I must say I felt like I had ran a marathon after clinic. The orthopaedist told me that Sterling is one of the most talented and natural kids that he has ever seen in a chair and that I better put him into wheelchair sports. That is always reassuring to hear that your kid is doing better than the average kid with Spina Bifida. Clinic turned out good. Nuerosurgery said his head and shunt were perfect, Urologist said his kidney function seems great (and ordered an extra ultrasound this next month just to reassure), Orthopaedist said his bones are in good condition so far but sent us down to x-ray just to make sure and his PT was happy with his progress. Yea for good news at clinic!
