The Vacation Part 2

Here are the rest of the vacation photos.

I tried to get some good photos of the two kiddies together...but of course they are little goats and have to make everything harder than it should be.  I seriously took about 200 photos of this stairway at our resort in Nanoose Bayd and these are the best 4 :(  Not quite what I was going for but it will suffice.

Pretty impossible to get both looking at the same time and having a cute expression.  So I changed tactics and took them separately.  Love Emy's dress.  Just happened to match the flowers around her!

The point at Nanoose Bay.  Sterls and Papa!

Emery was so fascinated with the gravel that I could not get her to look up at me for a photo!

A pathway overlooking the bay at our resort.

There were millions of little crabs on this beach.  I took a photo of Sterls crab watching.  Which he did frequently every chance he got this vacation.

Emery and Papa looking at the Tidal pools in Nanaimo, BC.

The pirate at Nanaimo.  Sterls didn't like him so I had to get a photo with Emers.

Rathtrevor beach in Parksville, BC.  Best beach ever minus the crabs.  Every step you took you almost stepped on a crab.  The ocean here was knee deep about a km out into the ocean.  That speck is Trevor and Sterls super far out into the ocean.  Since it is so shallow it is the warmest by far ocean that I have ever been in.  Seriously, and I have been in Mexico and Florida.  No cold shock just warm water goodness.  SOOOOOOO nice!

Look at these crazy trees up on a hike we took up Notch Hill.   A bunch of trees were coloured this deep red and yellow.

The peak up Notch Hill.  Let me tell you, Notch Hill is a deceiving hike name.  It was super tiring with little midgets on your back up a super steep 45 minute path.

THe rock pool at our resort.  There is also a secluded hot tub up behind those trees.  Best part, they were open 24/7.

Ferry ride from Nanaimo to Horseshoe Bay.

Ending with a gratuitous cute baby pic.

The Vacation Part 1

We went on a sweet vacation a couple of weeks ago.  I am a bit slow on the draw although it is for a good reason.  In about a weeks vacation I can take anywhere from 500-2000 pictures that I need to sort through and it takes quite a long while.  Here is our trip dets. ala google maps HERE.  Basically, a quick low down:  We left Calgary at 4pm and stopped at Hope, BC for a few hour nap and then onto Bellingham (where we ate amazing Mexican food).  After that we went to the outlet stores in Tulalip, Wa and got some killer deals.  Stayed the night in Everett, Wa.  The next morning we headed to Edmonds where we caught the ferry to Kingston, Wa.  We passed through there and stopped in Port, ANgeles for the night.  The next morning we took another ferry to Victoria, BC where we passed through and stopped in Duncan, BC.  After a short stop with a train ride we ended up in Nanoose Bay, BC for 4 nights.  We left the Island and stayed in the Loops overnight and then headed home.  Super super fun!  Here are some of the photos with descriptions of events.

This is the Edmonds to Kingston ferry.  Sterls is pointing out the window to show us where the whales were.  He was worried they were going to tip over the boat and usually tried to stay away from the windows at all times.

Port Angeles, Wa.

We stayed at this hotel in Port Angeles on the beach.

Trevor found his favourite store by far as you can tell by his super excitement *Note the sarcasm here.  We went in and got dirty looks from the sales clerk because we were making fun of all the nerdy Twilight propaganda.

We did some more shopping, and I was able to score an old sweet Coca Cola tin sign.  IN love, sigh!

The train ride in Duncan, BC.  You can tell it was super busy by this photo.

The train made a stop in this logging area with a ton of old  logging equipment.

Sterls looking pretty.  He loves his flowers.

THe train museum in Duncan.

This is the view from our Oceanside resort in Nanoose Bay, BC.  Loved this resort and am totally staying here again.  The rooms were townhouse style and included a kitchen, living room, dining room, bedroom, laundry and a a bathroom with a fireplace.  Yup, so nice.  You walked out your back patio into this nice private green are overlooking the ocean.  The resort had 3 pool areas (one on the point looking over the ocean, one called the rock pool (pictured below) and one indoor inside the resort building.  There were also acres of private beach, 2 aquariums and free kayaks to use in the bay.  Yup, loved it here.

Here is the place we stayed.  On the other side of the bushes is the ocean.

We went to this place inland a little bit called Cathedral Grove.  Basically, it was an old grove with trees as old at 800 years old.  Not quite as big as the redwoods in Cali but still quite impressive.

We went to Parksville and hung out by the beach.  Kids loved it!

More Weeks of Emy

Here are the latest photos of Emy week to week.  Loving the Canada Day (week 33) photo and Calgary Stampede (week 34) photo.  Yup, she is a little cuttie!
