And the award for...

MOST SOCIALLY AKWARD INDIVIDUAL goes to me!

We finally had our American Thanksgiving dinner tonight. The food = so tasty but I = so weird.

I have the attention span of a goldfish. I fully admit to zoning out when ANYONE starts talking to me. About 30 seconds (if I'm lucky) into any conversation my mind starts drifting onto whatever seems to catch my attention. Think of toddler brain and that's me. I promise it's not anyone being particularly boring or me trying to be rude. I just CANNOT FOCUS!!!!

Someone was talking to me and 5 seconds in my eyes wander away from them only to realize they've stopped talking. I say, "yes". Cue them looking at me like I'm an idiot. Oops, it must have been a question. Oh wait, what did I miss them saying while I was thinking about previous question. I say "That's good". Oh crap, that was the wrong response again because they just looked so confused. They start talking one more time as my mind thinks, I wonder what.....I wander away while the person is in mid sentence. Takes me 1 minute to realize I walked away while someone was talking to me. I am the awkward penguin....

That was my night. Sorry in advance to everyone because I am completely and utterly weird and it cannot be helped. At least my double layer cheesecake pumpkin pie was super tasty!

Happy American Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving my American Friends!  Hope you are all eating and enjoying your turkey for me. We usually have a big shindig at our place (because who doesn't need another excuse to eat more turkey and enjoy friends) but this year it was put on hold.  :( Wop Wop.  Last year we gave all our Thanksgiving guests the flu so we decided to play it safe this year.  Good thing we did...

I have been seriously ill all week and decided that I better go into the doctor today as I couldn't even manage to swallow my own spit and haven't slept for days. Turns out I have a very severe case of Strep that she was afraid was near to turning into Scarlet fever.  My joints all over my body are severely swollen and I could barely walk this week.  Yup, lucky me!  So heres to hoping that the antibiotics will kick in the next 48 hours and make me a little less miserable. Wow, talk about being thankful.  I am so very Thankful for modern medicine.  Without it I'm not sure I would have lived as long or at least not as pleasantly with my asthma and all the Pneumonia and strep it brings with it.  I also know that Sterling would absolutely not be here to bring so much joy into my life without all the advances in medicine.  One lucky Mama here that he wasn't born even 50 years earlier!

This little guy has been making me smile all through the pain this week.  Who couldn't resist his chubby little cheeks?
Love my family!

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!

We had a big day yesterday. We gave our little man his baby blessing in church.  Which resulted in him crying the whole time and me not actually hearing any of what was said :(

Gave him a kiss and he wasn't impressed.  It's already starting with him and he's only 4-months-old!

We celebrated Emery's Birthday after church as well.  My parents are in Calgary for a bit so we decided to get it all done in one big hit even thought Emery doesn't turn 2 until November 15.  Wow, my little girl is almost 2-years-old!  Where does the time ever go?
It took me about 6 hours to make 56 of these babies so I am making sure they are represented in photo form, lol.

Trevor and I gave Emery a baby and saying that she loves it is an understatement.  She carries that baby around everywhere with her.  She is constantly feeding and admiring her baby.
This is Emery trying to hide from everyone singing her Happy Birthday.  If she isn't looking at anyone that means no one can see her.
She is still grumpy because everyone is looking at her.
Had a ton of fun with my family. My sister made this delicious ice cream cake which everyone loved and she left the leftovers!  That is going to set Trevor and myself back in weight loss, lol.  We couldn't resist and had to have another piece last night.

I was really happy to have my family around to bless the baby and celebrate Emery turning another year older!

Cake Pop Love

So we played into the cake pop trend and I can see why it is so popular. My sister and I spent the afternoon making several batches for Halloween. It is so easy and aren't they just so fun? The kids ate all of them within a a few days!

Halloween 2012

Yup, Already Halloween 2012.  The South family had a good year: Minus the death fog in our neighbourhood.  It was so foggy over here you couldn't see past a few houses and it was seriously cold.  Pretty sure it felt like -15 degrees Celsius here. Brrrrr!  The kids loved it and got to go out with Trevor and my sister and her kids.

Mr. Rogers....Sterling and Corbin were severely confused by Trevor's costume.

Cowboy and IRON man (Sterling's favourite superhero)!
We even had to draw a Tony Stark moustache for when he decided to take off his mask, lol. Too bad he rubbed it off within 5 seconds (Didn't even get a good pic of it). Trevor went with my sister for the first part of the night for an hour.  I took Sterling again when he begged me that he needed to go out more.  That kids is seriously heavy.  It was so snowy here that he couldn't go in his wheelchair so we had to carry him in a pack on our backs.  Yup, I'm sore today.  Walking 45 minutes with a 40 pound kid on your back in the snow = one exhausted Mama! Please be better weather next year because I'm starting to realize how hard it is going to be to get him out trick or treating in the future (since Calgary seems to have snow most Halloweens.  I think I'm going to have to organize a huge trunk or treat with a party in the future years.
Emery, wow....She absolutely hated her costume.  She cried and screamed the first 10 minutes.  Then when she got the hang of it she tolerated it and only because candy was involved.  The second she was in the door she was begging me to take it off.  But she does make the cutest little strawberry ever!
