Tiny the Elf

My mom bought us this little elf a couple years ago and we just threw it in our Christmas box.  Then the Elf on the Shelf craze happened and I decided to give it a go this year.  Prognosis:
KIDS LOVED IT!!!

The first thing every morning they got super excited and had to find the elf before anything else was allowed to happen.  The first day, Emy was super creeped out by it and had to make sure that it was in the same place so it couldn't see her.  Sterling is ever the skeptic and to this day still tells me, "Mama, it is just stuffy...She isn't real and doesn't come to life at night". This one is a trouble maker that is for sure!

Emy was so upset that the Elf had touched her while she was sleeping, lol! Sterling had to keep it on his nose all day just so he could show it to Trevor.

She made snowmen out of marshmallows and the kids loved it!

Christmas Cheer

Crazy busy this month for Christmas! I've been spending my time being productive instead of blogging!

What have I missed?

First things first. It is day three without cupboards or a sink out of 8 days. Wow, it is really hard to function with a midget bathroom sink! But the wood counters are so sexy (yes, I said sexy!) that it is worth it. Sneak peak below!!!

Sterls and Trevor went to Canada vs USA sledge hockey world championships. Trevor and Stacy (my brother) tried to deter him into cheering for the USA but I have trained him well. He would not be deterred...that's my Canadian boy! He loved that he didn't have to be quiet for once.

Trevor also took Sterling and his cousin Corbin to Wreck it Ralph while Emy and I had a girl outing. She rode the Cinderella ride, saw Santa and helped picked out a Christmas present for Papa, picked out a cute kitty at build a bear she named kitty bella and topped it all off with ice cream.

We all made gingerbread houses...Pretty sure I was the most excited about it. # alwaysakidatheart

We have made about a million treats and given away about 999,999 of them. That is the only way I can enjoy a bunch of different types without expanding my waistline.....

Talking about waistline: My husband has lost 30 pounds and I am in second with a 20 pound loss. How exciting! All it took was changing our eating habits. Trevor looks amazing and actually looks better than they day we got married. Yes, I am bragging ladies!

I'm almost done a 12 days of Christmas I started Trevor. I think it was much more fun for me then it was for him.

My poor sweet baby has gotten his first taste of being sick! Bright has an awful cold and he is painfully teething at the same time. Poor sweetheart. I always feel so bad for them when they are this little. There hasn't been much sleeping going on for Bright or Mama. We were up at 4am this morning. I'm very lucky that Trevor has 6 days in a row with us.

Photos of the Week

We've had a good week as no one is sick and lots has gotten done!  And here are some photos to prove it.  We went to the Airdrie festival of lights again this year.  We went at a way better time because there was hardly anyone there.  We went with my brother Colin and his family (yes, I did not get any photos because apparently coldness muddles my brain). Brighton pretty much cried the entire time but I was able to get a couple shots in between fits. Don't you love that sweater my sister knit for Trevor.  Can I say jealous much?

Here is the photo bombardment of the month of my kids.  I took these today because they were all being particularly cute (like they are never not cute).

Look at all the chunk!  So cute, I never had a baby that was so chunky and I must say it is just as cute as small baby.  I can't help but pinch his little cheeks all the time.
Here is the clown of the family: Always making everyone laugh and being such a little goof.  And yes her face is absolutely filthy but we have many fights a day over washing the face so sometimes I admit I let it slide, lol.

And lastly, the talker...Yes, that is him talking 24/7 to anyone, everyone and anywhere.

Christmas is Almost here...

...And then I start hating winter.  I don't mind winter up until Christmas because there is something special to look forward to but after Christmas, I HATE it.  Leave it to me to have a child that LOVES it.  He hates the heat profusely and summer is not his friend.  I guess that is why I felt so strongly that I needed to enrol Sterling into sit-ski lessons this winter at Sunshine.  He is uber excited and lets me know at every spare moment that he can't wait to be the best skier in the world.  I remember liking winter so much better when I skied all winter long before moving to Utah. I can't wait until Bright is a little bit older so that I can start skiing again.

Here is a picture I took today of the two main men in my life right now. They are definitely brothers and both very handsome! Love my little studs! I can't believe how fast they grow.  I feel like my life accelerates faster and faster each year.

I spent yesterday adding some Christmas cheer to my home.  We don't have very many Christmas decorations up this year because I have a certain little girl that can't keep her hands off of anything. So armed with 80 ornaments, one wire hanger and some ribbon to the tune of $15 I made this:

Ok, thats a better view.  It adds some charm to my house and she can't get her dirty little hands on it!
