Photos Galore

Here are the photos from my latest Eme photo shoot.  She is sooooo easy to take photos of!  What do you think? I think she is a little sweetie, but then again I am biased.

Isn't Sterling getting so big?  I am not quite so sure how things like that happen.  Plus, he is starting to get some curl in his hair, uh oh!  I guess I can't expect less from my children coming from a curly haired family!

Executive Decision

I decided to make an executive decision after I woke up with a sore throat this morning that I will not be doing Christmas cards this year (that I was going to do this weekend).  With the new baby, 3 hours of sleep each night and now sickness hitting the family with only a week left before Christmas it just seems like a lot of work.

I know I know, there are no pics of the little girl!  I have had many requests for more pictures and have not delivered on this.  I promise there are tons of photos but they are living on my camera for the time being until I get some energy back.  I am just starting to get moving again after my last c-section.  My second c-section was definitely harder on me and my recovery has been slow.  Plus, severe cabin fever has now hit my life.  I have barely been able to walk more than 10 minutes a week ago so I have been sitting and sitting and doing even more sitting.  Yup, going to start going crazy if I don't start getting out and getting my life back in order.

Life with two kids is busy! This morning Eme woke up at 4:30am to feed and went back to sleep at 6:00am. Sterling decided to wake up at 5:45am!  They are tag teaming me into complete tiredness.  I think that I will regain my sanity one day in about 5 months.

The Dets.

So it has officially been two weeks and one day since I had Emery!  Yea! I am happy to have made it this far but extremely exhausted (as to be expected, I know I know).

So here are the details as I have been asked by several people.  My birthday is on November 14th and at about noon that day I told Emery that I would love for her to start coming at midnight.  Well, the prompt little thing she is, my water broke at 11:50pm on November 14th.  After much debate we went to the hospital at 1am.  They checked to make sure my water did indeed break and sent me on my merry way to come back by noon on November 15th or until my contractions got regular.  Well, they started off good and strong and every 10-5 minutes for 5 hours and then just died.  So I went back to the hospital at noon and sat around another couple hours trying to get them started to no avail.

So at 2pm it was decided that we had to take matters into our own hands.  Sterling was a c-section as he was breech.  So inducing labour was out of the question because of the huge risk of uterine rupture (which is causes death in either mother or child or both).  So, another c-section was pretty much our only option.

At 5:12pm on November 15th our little Emery Mae South was born!  A whole 6 pounds 10 ounces and 18 inches long.  She was 3.5 weeks early so that was quite a substantial weight for someone so early!

We got home from the hospital three days later.  I was able to be released after 2 days but Emery was having trouble with weight gain and her glucose.  It turns out after 11 days (and lots of pain, suffering and lack of sleep) we found out that the poor little girl was tongue tied and couldn't get milk very well!

Sterls started off pretty rocky with Emery.  He would acknowledge when either me or Emery were in the room.  It was like he thought if he pretended she didn't exist that she would just go away.  After about a week he started wanting to hold her and now constantly gives her kisses.  So all is well on that front.  Minus, I can't lift anything above 10 pounds so he is getting pretty neglected at home until Papa gets home because he can't walk or go in his chair :( I think I am getting pretty stir crazy as well as him though.  I can't seem to walk for more than 10 minutes and can't drive because of the c-section pain so it limits going out anywhere.

Here are a couple Sterls and Emery photos!

Trying to Kill Time....

Happy Birthday to me!  It was my birthday yesterday and I told my baby at noon that day that a really good birthday present would be to start having contractions at midnight.  Well, she is nothing if not prompt.  At 11:50pm my water broke!!!  I am 37 weeks preggers tomorrow so the little girl is pretty much full term.  I went to the hospital at 1am and they kept me a few hours to monitor fetal distress and sent me home until my contractions kick in.  Well, every 5 to 10 minutes from 2am until 7am I had horrible contractions and didn't get any sleep last night because of how close and painful they were.  Of course when I decided to get up at 7am they have slowed to one every half and hour and manageable pain, so I am a little peeved at that.  But who can complain when I asked and I did receive.  Wish me luck as I have to go back in at 11am to give birth to this little girl!  YAY!
