I am a super awkward person. I just am and I have no social skills especially in group situations. I'm pretty sure my husband laughs daily at the hot awkward mess I am on the phone with ANYONE, at stores talking to workers or even marketers coming to my door. I'm constantly saying super weird things or repeating myself because I am too nervous to even think straight.
This is particularly annoying in friend situations. I'm too nervous to ever invite anyone to do anything. And when they invite me to events I get all sweaty and nauseous just thinking about it. This doesn't mean I don't want to go but usually my social awkwardness makes it nearly impossible for me to just say 'yes'. Sad thing is that I LOVE throwing events and I'm super good at it.
Anyway, this is all leading up to this...I am pretty bored during the days and in hopes to entertain myself happened upon the beauties below that ALL pretty much sum me up perfectly. Yup, I'm just that awkward.

Styling Gel
Who needs styling gel when you have milk around. I asked Sterls why he rubbed milk all over his head. His reply "Because I wanted to look stylish with milk in my hair"! So rad.
P.s. don't mind the nutella face, we just ate lunch, lol

Whoops!
Uh ooh moment of the week:
Trevor and I have been on a super diet this week. Im trying to get back to my pre-pregnancy size before I get too comfortable being overweight and just live with it. I took a fitness calculator and calculated the calories I should be eating a day to loose 1 pound a week and then added 400 calories for nursing so I didn't mess with my milk production. Went on my merry little way eating this amount for almost 5 days. Weigh myself and I have lost 4 pounds. Hmmm.....look back on the week. 3 days prior Brighton has started fussing non-stop, eating non-stop and crying ALL the time. I thought it was maybe a growth spurt or just residual schedule confusion from our trip a few days ago. Decided to look up "How many calories should a nursing mother have to loose weight?". EVERYwhere I look says a nursing mother should not consume less than 1800 calories a day or else you will mess up your milk supply.
Oops! Bad mother of the week goes to me. I have problems producing milk as it is and have to take milk pills to increase my supply in order to even make enough to get him through the day. If i miss a couple doses my supply decreases dramatically. I have been starving my poor little guy :( needless to say, I'm feeling pretty crappy right now. The thing was I was eating a TON of food, but it was a ton of low cal fruits and veggies so I never felt hungry because the amount kept me full. Can't say I won't enjoy the extra calories but lesson learned: Make sure you word your inquires properly when searching google for advice. I looked for how many calories nursing burned and added those instead of how many calories a nursing mother should consume.
Leaving you with cute blurry smiling photo of my sweet babe, LOVE him so much!

It's been a long day...
It's been a really long day and it's only 10:30am. Last night a wicked thunder storm rolled through here. And damaged everything and anything that was outside. Depressing much! At least I happen to know a handsome man that works at a very reputable auto-body shop. Our car is already in the shop being assessed as I type this a mere 12 hours after the nasty storm rolled through. Damages include 3 large impacts on windshield, hundreds of hail damage on every single car panel, over a hundred holes in our house siding, our deck box looks like Swiss cheese and our outdoor couch cover has been demolished. Sad cloud for us!
On even worse news this last week has been quite painful to watch. My son Sterling turned 4-years-old (Unimaginable!!!!) and has now gained an obsession with being able to walk. He has cried on and off all morning today. The night of his Birthday he asked "Now that I'm 4 will I be able to walk?" when it was explained to him that he is not able to walk he burst out crying for a long time. He has since been asking on a daily basis when he will be able to walk and cries after. He just wants it so badly that he wants the answer to change and was so convinced when he turned 4 that would happen. It is so heart breaking to watch your son grasp for something that just isn't in reach and you can't do anything to change it. I have wished since finding out about his Spina Bifida at 18 weeks pregnant that I could take it from him to save him from all the suffering he has had to endure and has yet to endure. Although I know that I am not as strong as him and that is why he was given this affliction and not me. He has taught me so many things already and I know he will continue to teach me even more. He has brought joy to so many peoples lives and is just completely inspirational. I love this boy more than words can express. I know one day that he is going to show everyone that no matter your abilities you can do anything you want.
Brighton....whew! So tiring yet so freaking cute. He is 2-months-old any day now. Can you believe it?!? So big! And so sweet. I can see him thinking the rest of his family is crazy and weird and rolling his eyes constantly at us. Such a serious boy.
Emy, always a handful. Constantly bruised because she has NO fear. I am grateful to have grown up surrounded by extreme sports because I would have a mini heart attack several times a day from all her epic falls. I fully expect these to continue for a lifetime and can't wait to see what she will do with all her energy!
Love my family, love my life....even if it includes some hail damage.
Going to update soon with photos from our Utah vacation this last week. We had a great time with my parents and we sure do miss them (time to move back to Calgary *Not so subtle hint). Grandpa took the kids (and Stacy and Dana's kids) fishing, we went swimming at the beach and even had a small hike all in 35-38 degree Celcius weather!
